Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended ("Section 508") generally mandates federal agencies to procure, maintain and use electronic and information technology (“EIT”) systems, including software systems, which allow access to federal employees with disabilities. Therefore, under Section 508, federal agencies must procure software which ensures that Federal employees and end-users with disabilities have access to data and information and are able to use the software in a manner comparable to the access and use enjoyed by persons without disabilities.
FrontRange Solutions develops software and services that distributed and mid-to-enterprise organizations rely on every day to build and manage IT and customer relationships and deliver high-quality customer service. FrontRange applies a unique combination of innovation and automation with a standards-based approach to simplify core business processes, including: IT service management; customer relationship and sales force management; and infrastructure management. These products comprise a mix of computer desktop and web-based software applications that focus primarily on the input, storage, retrieval, and presentation of information. As such, FrontRange software may fall under one or more of the types of EIT governed by Section 508 – most notably, Software Applications and Operating Systems (1194.21) and Web-based Intranet and Internet Information and Applications (1194.22).
FrontRange Solutions understands the importance of Section 508 requirements for its customers and the FrontRange Solutions products aim to achieve a high level of compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards.
